Okay…so I may have told a little fib to my client. But fibs don’t count when they are for good, right? 😉 The thing is, I needed to buy some time and couldn’t let them know that I was planning to surprise them with something. So I told them I was waiting for a new shipment of disc cases. And, I mean, I NEED a proper case to put their digital image disc in, right? So that bought me about a week’s worth of time. I needed to get down to work…quickly… 😉
Call me a sap, but after I shot this family’s session I couldn’t stop thinking about them. It became one of those situations that I now felt invested in – like I couldn’t just bring myself shoot the photos and move on. I wanted to be able to do more for them than that. So I got to work and did up this album for them. It’s a custom designed, 8.5 X 11 album with a photo wrapped cover and lay-flat pages. But more than that…it’s a tangible memory for them. It’s one that will last them a lifetime – generations even. I hope that it’s something they can pull out and look at many times in their lives to see how far they’ve come together.
Another HUGE thank you goes out again to my friend (and mutual friend of this family) Virginia from Sweet Ginger Photography in Calgary for helping to make this session and this album happen. 🙂
And like before, I continue to think about Melody and will be sending her all of the positive, healing thoughts I can for the coming months. I look forward to doing another session with the Corbett family in 2014 when Melody finishes her treatments!
