Double Take! ~ Ottawa Photographer

I’m SO excited to be able to share with you a fabulous and fun new blog feature that I will be calling: Double Take!

I will post a photo. Edited two ways. And you, my readers, tell me which you prefer in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Its that simple and there are no right or wrong answers! And for doing it, you are automatically entered to win a sweet little prize. Today’s prize?

A $25 gift card for Ten Thousand Villages redeemable online, or at any Ten Thousand Villages store in Canada! If you aren’t familiar with this amazing company, you’ll want to check them out! They offer only the most amazingly beautiful, hand-crafted, fair trade items from all over the world. By choosing to purchase fair trade certified goods, you are helping to ensure that artisans all over the world are paid fairly for their work and are able to provide for their families. How awesome is that? It really is the ultimate in guilt-free shopping! ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you live in Ottawa, go pay them a visit at either their Bank Street or Richmond Road location and tell their awesome manager Judy that Danielle sent you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Want a second entry? Tweet the following: Hey #Ottawa! I just entered to win a $25 gift card from @VillagesCanada on the @DLPhotography blog! Come check it out!

Once you’ve tweeted it, come leave another comment to let me know. This will be your second and final entry! ๐Ÿ™‚

Please note: This contest is open to residents of Canada only and winner must be able to provide a valid email address so that I am able to contact them to arrange for gift card to be sent.

love them BOTH…but I find the top one in colour much more vibrant and shows the energy and youth of the cutie in the photo!

  2. isabelle

I love them both, however, the BW one just make me feel like i could see the world through his eye, how kids love the little thing in life that
we take for granted or forget to enjoy.

  3. Kari

I love the BW it seems to be more intense, it is a beautiful photo and a very handsome young man.

  4. Melissa

I love the colour one! I think it adds more of an intenseness to the picture! Plus, he is adorable.. So really, both pictures are perfect!! But I’d prefer the colour ๐Ÿ™‚

Both are great (you can’t go wrong with someone so cute!), but I like the colour – its very vibrant and full of life.

  6. Michelle

I prefer the colour photo — it really enhances the boca effect of the photograph; the black and white face blends into the background too much, but in the colour photo the face “pops” more from the blurry background. Just my thoughts!

  7. Lauren

I prefer the colour photograph – it really shows off how amazing that little boy’s eyes are! (although I must say, the B&W looks pretty great, also!)

I haven’t seen Mr. E in so long, I wouldn’t have ever recognized him had proud poppa Richard not divulged his bias…stunningly handsome either way, but I’m a sucker for the depth of sepia! (That’s why I’m hooked on

    Great contest, even greater shots!

I thought you said this was going to be easy.
    I can’t decide, I like b&w but I also like colour.
Of course I’m old enough to remember when b&w
was the norm, colour was for special occasions.
