This particular family session was a LONG time in the making! Dad had initially booked me in 2016 to photograph his soon-to-be blended family as part of a surprise engagement! We had everything meticulously planned out, but a series of unforeseen events occurred shortly before the session was to take place so the plan was temporarily put on the back burner. Fast forward to more recently – they decided to go ahead with the session! By this point, they were married so it would no longer be a surprise engagement session. But fun all the same! These guys were so much fun and the endless laughs made for so many natural smiles. And this warm, gorgeous light couldn’t have been more perfect!
Thank you so much to the C family for having me photograph your gorgeous family! I’m so happy that we finally made it happen and that you love the images. Hopefully next time we’ll make it happen a bit sooner! 😉
Do you have extended family coming from out of town this summer? A new baby, in-law or 4-legged addition to the family? I’d love to connect and capture those memories for your family this year! Family session dates are limited so please get in touch to book your own session by clicking here!
I have tons of past family sessions to blog and loads more upcoming fall family sessions! Not sure if I’ll have the opportunity to blog everything…but I’m definitely hoping to catch you up on at least a few of my favourites so you don’t think that I abandoned this space entirely! 🙂
Oh how I enjoyed this family’s session at Petrie Island in Orleans. I love photographing families with kids of all ages…but I have to admit that I am always a teensy bit excited when I have the opportunity to photograph teen and adult kids. A big reason is simply the ease of working with subjects who are old enough to take instructions 😉 The second, and maybe more important, is knowing that a family has taken the time to document themselves at this stage. It’s so common to want to do these things when your kids are small. But as the years go by people get busy, kids go off to college etc. and not as much attention is paid to things like family portraits. It’s so nice to see folks slowing down and taking the time to capture these moments before everyone heads off in their own new directions.
The S family’s session was tons of fun and the resulting images really captured the laid back, care-free dynamic they have. Thanks so much for having me out to capture these for you, guys!
If you are interested in booking your own family photo session with Danielle Lynn Photography, I’d love to hear from you! Spots are almost completely full for fall so now is the time!
When Grandma and Grandpa come for a visit from the other side of the country, a family photo session is ALWAYS a great idea! When they contacted me this spring, the snow had only just melted and we were still in that grey area of the year where the weather could go either way. Thankfully, seemingly over night, it got warmer. Perfect timing for our evening at Petrie Island.
If you have family visiting the Ottawa area this summer, why not book a family photo session to remember your time together? I’d love to work with you to create images that you can enjoy for a life time. Space is quickly filling up for summer 2015 so get in touch today!
