A really fun challenge for me when I am thinking about locations to use for client headshot sessions is to select a place that wouldn’t ordinarily be seen as suitable (or even beautiful) and do my best to find the beauty in it. In the case of Sarah’s session, I suggested we use the area around her office building as well as the teensy little bit of park area across the street. This is an area of the city I’ve driven by about a million times and never would I have thought it beautiful any other time. But with the right model, the right light and a bit of thinking outside the box, we made it work beautifully!
Thanks so much for the wonderful session Sarah! I’m so pleased that you are thrilled with your images. I’m glad they convey exactly what you had hoped!
If you live in Ottawa and are interested in booking a professional head shot session this year, I’d love to hear from you! Let’s work together to create a one-of-a-kind set of images that tell the story you want to tell the world about yourself!
My headshot session with Stéphanie was one of those sessions that I kind of hoped would last for hours! Not only was she fun to chat with and full of compliments about my work (who wouldn’t love that?), posing her was a breeze and the whole thing was just a lot of fun. Of course, I never have the expectation that my clients will know what to do when they arrive at their session. But on the rare occasion that they do, the session ends up feeling just like two friends have gotten together for a bit of fun and conversation!
Thank you Stéphanie for such a great session and for your wonderful words about my work. I’m so happy that you love these images! I love that they convey your friendly, approachable personality! 🙂
Totally out of nowhere I seem to be getting tons of new inquiries for headshots this past week or so! Glad to see that the desire for relaxed, natural looking, outdoor headshots seems to be taking off amongst students, entrepreneurs and the professional crowd! Due to various family commitments this summer and fall my availability is limited though. So if you are interested in booking a professional headshot session with myself for the summer or fall of 2014, please get in touch via my website!
Another fantastic and fun professional headshot session! This time I met with Alex down in the Byward Market. He needed to update his professional images with something a little more modern and relaxed so we chose a location with lots of variety and personality. We walked the downtown streets near the Parliament, chuckled at tourists taking photos of the Ottawa’s famous spring tulips with their giant iPads in Major’s Hill Park and snapped some of our own awesome images for Alex to use for his online presence. We came away with some great results and upon being presented his proofs, he agrees! Alex is super happy and impressed with how well they represent him! 🙂
Thanks so much Alex for choosing Danielle Lynn Photography to update your headshots in the Byward Market! As always, I had so much fun and am thrilled that you love these images as much as I do!
