Headshots in the Byward Market are becoming such a popular thing for me lately! It seems that most of the Ottawa area professionals who are contacting me for these loves the variety that the Byward Market gives them. The great textured walls, beautiful architecture and nearby park areas give us so much variety, all within a short walking distance! My work as an Ottawa Headshot Photographer is never boring 🙂
Chris contacted me with the need for headshots and I loved his suggestion to bring two outfits and change half way through. It allowed for us, in a very short time together, to created some gorgeous images that will serve him on both a very professional level as well as a more casual one. I joked with him during our session that I could swear he was a professional model. He was so natural and confident in front of the camera and I think this translates very clearly in his headshots!
Thanks again Chris for trusting me to take these professional headshots for you. I hope you love the results as much as I do!

If there’s one thing I can count on being an Ottawa Family Photographer, it’s the fact that each family I work with is unique. It’s this unique combination of personalities that makes it so much fun for me because you never really know which direction things will go!
Sometimes it’s the kids who lead and I just follow and document. Sometimes it’s the parents who seem to have a clear idea of what they want to get out of the session so it’s mostly parent-driven. But in some instances – my very favorite instances – things are balanced out really well. That was definitely the case with this lovely family. Michelle and Suzanne were so fun, easy-going and just as playful with each other as they were with the kids. The kids behaved exactly as a 5 and 7 year old would and neither had any issue whatsoever with picking up a snowball and unexpectedly launching it directly at one of their parents. These interactions made for an incredibly fun time and it also assured that the smiles in these photos were 100% genuine. So many laughs were had and truly, it makes my heart happy to be in the presence of so much love!
A big thank you Michelle, Suzanne, Simon and Annabelle for braving the cold and snow and for such a fun time last weekend! I sincerely hope you love the photos as much as I loved taking them! 🙂

Last week I had a double-header session night with the family in my previous post as well as with this lovely family. Thankfully they both loved the idea of urban locations so it worked out very well and resulted a really fun, inspiring night of shooting for me! 🙂
Peter, Julie and Connor were really a lot of fun to work with and such a fun, unique change to work with a teen! Most teenagers, unless they are used to being in front of the camera, can be a challenge. And if I’m being totally honest, Connor also had a bit of…apprehension 😉 But eventually he came around and allowed me to capture some of what are my own personal favorite teen images to date. Fun, natural…and some of my absolute favorites were the candid, ‘in between’ moments that I managed to snag when he was laughing or just hanging out. What a privlege it was to photograph these folks all together. And I am grateful he took the time out of his busy teen schedule to indulge us 😉 Since having already presented the family with their images it’s recently been reported to me that Connor loves these photos of himself. That makes me SO happy. It’s not every day a teen loves professional photos so much that they post them on Facebook you know! I’ll take that as a very big compliment 😉
What I also love about this session was the time we took to capture a few of just Julie and Peter together. Watching their connection and capturing those laughs, kisses and sweet ‘in between’ moments were a lot of fun. I think it’s so important for couples to take the time to do this no matter how long they’ve been married or together. It’s ALWAYS a good time to celebrate your love! 🙂
Peter, Julie and Connor – thank you so much guys for choosing me to capture these moments of the three of you! I’m thrilled that you love the photos and I hope you enjoy them for years to come!
